Of all the products made to simulate the look of natural slate, BritLock's qualities
give it the edge.
A lightweight, fully interlocking slate with a thin leading edge made from 80%
recycled slate. BritLock's single lap design and covering capacity of 11.7m2 offers
savings through faster, easier fixing, reduced roof loadings and fewer tiles required
per m2.
BritLock can be laid at pitches as low as 17.5 degrees and has led to its specification
on projects as diverse as schools, churches, hotels, leisure centres, apartment
blocks and town houses, as well as on traditional residential developments.

It is not purely its design which makes BritLock one of the most sustainable
roofing products available. In addition to the carbon emissions saved, as a result
of its light weight during transportation and installation, each tile is made
from 80% recycled natural slate sourced from UK quarries, as opposed to the majority
of natural slates which are imported from overseas.
Unlike conventional slate, BritLock does not have to be graded and holed on-site
and thanks to its interlocking design, there is no need to install the tile double-lapped
thus offering significant savings in material and time.
- The result - a highly competitive interlocking slate with an authentic slate
appearance.
- Rated 'A' under the Building Research Establishment's (BRE) Green Guide to Specification.
- Manufactured in the UK pitched roofing industry's first carbon neutral factory
- BritLock - the slate that's breaking all the rules. Backed by British Board of
Agrément accreditation.
